NESSIE users will no longer have the option to select a method of authentication and login as they currently do with the NESSIE LOGIN page. Instead they will be presented with a single login page that will only support the use of campus NetIDs (most commonly associated with campus provided services). The use of EnterpriseIDs (associated with the Banner, NEWT, student and faculty self-service login pages) will no longer be supported. Other important changes with the new login page:
- UIC and UIS users will no longer need to include the domain (e.g. @uic.edu or @uis.edu) when logging in with their NetID. Including the domain will result in an authentication error.
- Users no longer have to navigate multiple pages to log in. Once the ID and password are entered, the user will be authenticated and taken directly to protected page they were trying to reach.
The change will take place January 16, 2014. NESSIE will be unavailable for 20-30 minutes starting at 5:30pm while the changes are being made.
