Subject: 2010 Annual Update to Prudential Long Term Disability Premiums
Employees who participate in the University LTD Plan may notice a change in their payroll deduction. The deduction is calculated annually, and is effective for the period of December 1, 2010 - November 30, 2011. The LTD deduction amount may change based on the following:
- The benefit amount received under this plan is calculated based on a percentage of salary. As salary changes, the deduction amount may change accordingly. Therefore, an increase in salary may result in an increased deduction amount. A decrease in salary, such as with a job change, may result in a decreased deduction amount.
- Rate categories are determined by age. Reaching an age in a higher rate category may increase the deduction amount.
Bi-Weekly Paid Employees
For bi-weekly paid employees, any change to University LTD Plan premiums will be reflected in their paychecks beginning with the December 8, 2010 paycheck.
Monthly Paid Employees
For monthly paid employees, any change to University LTD Plan premiums will be reflected in their paychecks beginning with the December 16, 2010 paycheck.
