Throughout the month of October, flu shots will be available 10am-4:30pm Monday Friday at McKinley Health Center for eligible Students, State of Illinois Employees, and Retirees. Watch the McKinley website for updated information or see the Flu Clinic Events Calendar for additional locations. This years' vaccine includes H1N1 protection in a single shot.
To receive the seasonal vaccination at no charge:
- each employee must present his/her state health insurance card and his/her State ID card.
- each retiree must present his/her state health insurance card and another form of ID.
NOTE: Dependents, spouses, contractual workers, consultants, students, as well as employees who have opted out of health insurance coverage through the state are NOT eligible for the free flu shot through this program.
Examples of those not eligible for a free flu shot but may receive one at McKinley Health Center for $25 include: extra help, academic hourly, visiting scholar, part time employee who does not participate in the health plan (coverage by ones spouse/partner does not count), spouses or partners, volunteers, or contractual employees.
