Subject: FY2012 Benefit Choice Urbana Campus Outreach Sessions
The FY2012 Benefit Choice period began on May 1. The Urbana campus UPB Benefits Services office will be sponsoring two types of Benefit Choice sessions 1) information only sessions and 2) information and NESSIE enrollment assistance sessions at locations throughout the Urbana campus during the Benefit Choice period. All sessions will include time for a Q & A. Employees can register for these classes at the OBFS training website link at the end of this message.
Due to the uncertainty of the health plan choices, these sessions will not begin until mid May and may provide limited health care information. It is unknown at this time when the Benefit Choice period will end. Additional sessions will be added once health plan contracts are finalized as CMS has stated that employees will have ample time to make informed health plan choices before the Benefit Choice period ends.
The NESSIE Benefit Choice benefits enrollment form will not be available until the health plan contracts are finalized. The NESSIE Medical Care and Dependent Care Assistance Plan (MCAP and DCAP) enrollment forms are currently available. Employees will be able to make MCAP and DCAP elections as long as the Benefit Choice period is open.
Civil service employees may attend these sessions without charging a benefit, with prior supervisory approval and operations permitting.
