Starting in April 2020, 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) will be required for all My UI Info applications, including the Earnings Statement, Direct Deposit, and My Profile, when logging in from either on- or off-campus. The My UI Info PIN will no longer be used.
What Should I Do?
If you have already set up 2FA, you do not need to take any additional action. Your current 2FA settings will continue to be used whenever you need to verify a login with 2FA. You can log in to the NetID Center at any time to review and update your settings, or to register a new device.
If you have not set up 2FA, you will need to do so to continue using My UI Info applications after the 2FA requirement is added for on-campus access. To set up 2FA, log in to the NetID Center and select “Set up 2FA”. You will be able to verify your login through the Duo 2FA smartphone app, a code sent via text message, or a phone call. You can also purchase a hardware token at the WebStore if you do not wish to use your personal device for authentication.
Why Use 2FA?
2FA provides significantly better protection for your personal information than a password alone. For example, if your password is stolen or compromised, having 2FA set up would require the thief to also have possession of your phone in order to access your account.
