This message provides clarification on the State budget impact to the self-insured State health plans.
We have heard from some health-care providers, including UI Health, Springfield Clinic, Carle, and Christie Clinic, and they tell us that as of now they are conducting business as usual. We understand that with most providers affiliated with large clinics, hospitals, or organizations, there should be no change in how you are charged at the time of service.
Please read the revised notice on the CMS website.
If you are in either the Quality Care (Cigna), Coventry OAP, or HealthLink OAP and you receive care or have an upcoming appointment with an independent provider, you may still wish to call ahead and confirm expectations for payment at the time of service.
We received further information from Delta Dental, and you can read their bulletin on the Delta Dental of Illinois website.
We will continue to monitor the situation as the State budget impasse continues, and provide more information if there are changes.
Public university presidents and chancellors, including those at the U of I, are advocating strongly with the governor and legislative leaders to resolve the budget impasse and settle this period of uncertainty.
