System Offices employees in Urbana may have received this communication from Chancellor Robert Jones regarding changes to COVID-19 procedures for employees located in Urbana. On Tuesday, Interim Chancellor Karen M. Whitney announced immediate mitigations to be taken by all faculty, staff, and students in Springfield. The following is an important update regarding these changes due to the recent increase in positive cases.
Thank you for everything you are doing to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 by working remotely if possible, only participating in essential activities, and limiting travel.
For System Offices employees working on-site in Urbana, please increase to a twice weekly testing schedule, and test in the mornings or early in the day on Wednesday and Saturday or Sunday if possible. Testing and receiving negative results every four days will be required to gain access to university buildings. Continue this testing schedule until notified otherwise.
Testing schedules and requirements in Chicago and Springfield will not change at this time.
Refer to the System Offices COVID-19 Testing FAQs and the System Offices Remote Working Extended announcement for more information. Questions may be directed to System HR.
