EMS and Highway Safety Fall 2024 Internship
Are you interested in gaining valuable experience in emergency medical services (EMS) and highway safety while working directly with experts in the field? The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is offering an exciting internship opportunity within the Division of EMS and Highway Safety. This internship is ideal for individuals eager to develop communication materials, guidelines, and infographics related to EMS programs and policies.
Responsibilities:
Presentation Development: Develop presentations outlining the scope of the Division of EMS and Highway Safety. Create engaging and informative presentations for various stakeholders.
Program Overviews: Develop "one-pager" overviews of EMS programs and policies. Summarize complex information into concise, easy-to-understand formats.
Guideline Development: Develop guidelines for outside stakeholders and create program-specific process maps. Ensure clarity and accessibility of information.
Quality Measures Reporting: Assist with the identification and reporting of work group-determined quality measures. Ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Infographic Creation: Develop infographics to display EMS's reach in Illinois. Use visual data representation to communicate key metrics and impacts effectively.
Educational Consistency: Develop guides to establish consistency in EMS education programs. Standardize educational materials and procedures across programs.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program in Communications, Health Leadership, Public Health, or any other field of study.
- Strong skills in presentation development and visual data representation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with EMS and highway safety concepts is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
- Professional demeanor and the ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
Duration and Compensation:
This is a semester-long unpaid internship with flexible scheduling options to accommodate academic commitments. The internship will be part-time, for approximately 10-12 hours per week, and is a remote position. Academic credit may be available depending on your institution's guidelines.
