Overview:
The Division of Medical Cannabis is seeking a dedicated and motivated intern to assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of an education and training program. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in healthcare education and outreach, specifically in the area of medical cannabis. The intern will play a key role in designing educational materials, organizing workshops, promoting activities, and collaborating with partners to enhance the understanding of medical cannabis and its patient registry system. Additionally, the intern will assist in the collection and analysis of evaluation data to assess the program's effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing educational materials for the Medical Cannabis Education and Training Program.
- Help secure approval for the production of educational materials and coordinate the creation of these materials.
- Organize and support workshops, presentations, and training events related to medical cannabis.
- Promote medical cannabis activities and collaborate with partners to provide general education and training on medical cannabis and the new Medical Cannabis Patient Registry System.
- Assist with the design, collection, and analysis of evaluation data on the Medical Cannabis Education and Training Program.
- Help present findings and evaluation results from education and training activities.
Qualifications:
- Graduate or undergraduate student pursuing public health, health education and promotion, health administration, or related.
- Familiarity with medical cannabis, healthcare education, or training program development is beneficial but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- International students must be eligible to work off-campus. Please include verification in cover letter.
Duration and Compensation:
This is a summer internship that will begin in May and conclude in August. This is an unpaid internship with flexible scheduling options to accommodate academic commitments. Academic credit may be available depending on your institution's guidelines. Please include in cover letter accommodations to work onsite in Springfield, Illinois for 10-20 hours a week.
