Health Equity Summer 2024 Internship
Are you passionate about health equity? The Organization for Community Health and Equity (ORCHE) at Illinois Department of Public Health is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to assist with information gathering for their newsletters, including the Health Equity Newsletter and the Culture Newsletter. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in identifying relevant public health information, developing research skills, and disseminating public health information for targeted audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Research and gather information for the Health Equity Newsletter and the Culture Newsletter.
- Assist in the dissemination of public health information to targeted audiences.
- Optionally, assist in maintaining entries for a statewide faith-based organization list.
- Participate in planning meetings for the Minority Health Conference.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Public Health, Health Promotion, Community Health, or a related field.
- Strong research skills and the ability to identify relevant public health information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with database management preferred.
- Passion for promoting health equity and addressing health disparities.
This is an unpaid internship with flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments. The internship is part-time between 10-20 hours per week and will start at the end of May beginning of June. The position is virtual with possible need for on-site in Springfield, IL. Academic credit may be available based on your institutional guidelines. Applications are due by April 12, 2024.
