Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated intern to support our efforts in partnering with 14 local health departments and the Illinois Migrant Council. This internship will provide an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public health initiatives, community outreach, and health systems coordination across a diverse range of local and regional partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner Collaboration: Work closely with 14 local health departments, including Lake, McHenry, DuPage, Kane, City of Chicago, Stickney, Evanston, Oak Park, Cook County, Kankakee, Grundy, Will, Kendall, and Grundy, to support ongoing community-based programs and initiatives.
- Illinois Migrant Council Engagement: Collaborate with the Illinois Migrant Council to assist in outreach and support efforts for migrant health and wellness initiatives.
- Conference and Summit Attendance: Participate in health-related conferences, workshops, and summits to stay updated on public health trends, network with professionals, and assist with event coordination or documentation.
- Administrative Support: Help in organizing meetings, preparing materials, tracking project progress, and supporting communication between partners.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Health Management, Nursing, or health related at a Chicago area school.
- Has reliable vehicle and has ability to travel across Chicago-land area.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to work approximately 10 hours a week.
- Previous experience in community outreach, event coordination, or public health programs (preferred but not required).
