• Business Administration and Fiscal Operations Summer 2025 Internship - SPRINGFIELD, IL

    Location: Springfield, IL

    Overview:

    The Fiscal team is seeking an organized and detail-oriented intern to assist with a variety of tasks related to the invoice review process, fiscal operations, and administrative support. This internship will provide hands-on experience in the financial and operational processes within a public sector organization, including mapping new processes, assisting with the migration of fiscal forms to Smartsheet, and creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The intern will also support grant reimbursement payments and fiscal/accounting operations as needed. 

     Responsibilities:

    • Assist in mapping out the new invoice review process for both programs and fiscal operations.
    • Support the migration of existing forms to Smartsheet, optimizing fiscal form submissions, reviews, corrections, and communication back to programs.
    • Help create and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for various fiscal processes.
    • Assist with grant reimbursement payments and help ensure they are processed accurately.
    • Provide support in fiscal and accounting operations as needed to maintain office functions.

    Qualifications:

    • Undergraduate student pursuing business administration.
    • Interest in or experience with fiscal operations, accounting, or business administration.
    • Familiarity with Smartsheet, financial processes, or standard operating procedures is a plus.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
    • International students must be eligible to work off-campus. Please include verification in cover letter.

    Duration and Compensation:

    This is a summer internship that will begin in May and conclude in August. This is an unpaid internship with flexible scheduling options to accommodate academic commitments. Academic credit may be available depending on your institution's guidelines. Please include in cover letter accommodations to work onsite in Springfield, Illinois for 20 hours a week.
