Position Overview:
The Medical Services Division Office is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented intern to assist in the process of updating vital records forms for abortion care. This role involves researching, analyzing, and discussing the forms used in other states that allow abortion care, as well as participating in ongoing discussions to update the vital records forms for Illinois abortion provision.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research on the vital records forms used in other states that allow abortion care.
- Engage with clinical providers to discuss the pros and cons of the forms used in their respective states.
- Compile and document findings from research and discussions.
- Actively participate in ongoing discussions and meetings regarding the update of vital records forms for Illinois abortion provision.
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing research findings and recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing MPH degree at the University of Illinois – Chicago.
- Preferably also a physician in a fellowship program focused on complex family planning.
- Ability to work 5-10 hours per week.
- Strong interest in family planning, maternal health, and abortion care.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) preferred.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
