Internship Title: Public Health Research Intern
IDPH is offering an exciting internship opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Public Health Research Intern for the Spring 2024 semester. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in conducting research on state-by-state comparisons for key public health initiatives. The internship will provide valuable insights into the coordination of outreach efforts to healthcare providers and systems, as well as exposure to data analysis techniques that inform policy decisions. Internship is unpaid and can be for course credit or work experience.
Responsibilities:
- State-by-State Research:
- Engage in research activities focused on state-by-state comparisons of public health initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of a comprehensive understanding of regional variations in public health strategies.
- Outreach Coordination:
- Support the coordination of outreach initiatives to healthcare providers and systems regarding key public health programs.
- Assist in organizing and facilitating communication channels to enhance engagement with stakeholders.
- Data Analysis Assistance:
- Work closely with the team to assist in the analysis of relevant data sets.
- Contribute to the generation of insights and visualizations that aid in policy decision-making.
- Learning and Development:
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance research and analytical skills.
- Gain exposure to the practical application of public health concepts in a professional setting.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Collaborate with team members on various projects, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Provide assistance in documenting research methodologies and findings.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, or a related field.
- Strong interest in public health research, policy, and outreach.
- Basic understanding of research methodologies and data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to meaningful projects.
