Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid preferred, open to Remote)
Overview: Dive into the future of public health with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) as an AI Operations Enhancement Intern. This exciting internship offers an opportunity to explore and leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to advance our department's operations and impact.
Responsibilities:
- AI Research & Analysis: Investigate potential AI applications within IDPH. Analyze how other states are successfully utilizing AI in their public health initiatives to identify best practices and innovative approaches.
- Strategic Recommendations: Develop strategic recommendations for implementing AI solutions that can enhance departmental operations, improve efficiency, and support public health goals.
- Solution Development: Assist in formulating AI-driven solutions designed to optimize business functions and processes. Contribute to the planning and execution of AI pilot projects to test and refine these solutions.
Qualifications:
- Able to work approximately 15 hours per week
- Enrolled in an undergrad or graduate degree program related to Public Health, Administration, Political Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in AI technologies and their impact on public health.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
This is an unpaid internship with flexible scheduling options to accommodate academic commitments. The internship will be part time, for approximately 15 hours per week. Academic credit may be available depending on your institution's guidelines.
