Open Enrollment for the University Supplemental Long Term Disability (LTD) Plan is available now through March 13, 2020! This voluntary plan supplements the State Universities Retirement System (SURS) disability benefit and may provide additional coverage if you become unable to work due to sickness or injury. Coverage elected during Open Enrollment is effective April 1, 2020. See University LTD Plan to learn more or enroll.
What’s the advantage of Open Enrollment?
During the Open Enrollment period, coverage is guaranteed unless you were denied coverage by Prudential during the period 4/1/2015 – 3/31/2020. Open Enrollment is offered for a limited time, about once every three years. If you enroll during February 24 – March 13, then you will NOT be required to submit evidence of insurability (also referred to as proof of good health).
Can I enroll after Open Enrollment?
You can apply for LTD coverage at any time outside of the Open Enrollment period, but coverage is not guaranteed. You will be required to complete a Statement of Health for Prudential to review.
If you are not interested in enrolling in LTD coverage, then no action is required.
