The following information is intended for Health Alliance plan participants.
On February 25, 2025, Health Alliance announced it will discontinue its commercial insurance operations at the end of the 2025 calendar year. As a result, through Health Alliance's collaboration with the Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) the decision was made to end coverage with Health Alliance effective July 1, 2025.
What This Means for You
- Your current Health Alliance coverage remains in effect through June 30, 2025.
- During open enrollment, you must log into MyBenefits to elect a new health plan or opt out of the State of Illinois coverage.
- The Benefit Choice Open Enrollment Period will be held May 1 – June 2, 2025.
- Employees will not have a Qualifying Life Event (QLE) as the Benefit Choice enrollment period will provide the opportunity to select a new health plan.
- If you do not make an election during Benefit Choice, your family will be defaulted to the Quality Care plan.

- Prepare for Open Enrollment: Log into MyBenefits and ensure you are registered. This is where you will select your new health plan.
- Explore Your Options: The State Health Plan Coverage page includes FAQs and details on available plans. A plan comparison tool will also be available in MyBenefits during the open enrollment period.
- Review Benefit Choice Materials: These will be mailed in April 2025 and will outline plan options and key information.
- Attend a Benefit Choice Member Fair: Virtual and in-person events will be held in May 2025, providing an opportunity to speak with representatives from various health plans and get your questions answered. Additional details on dates and times will be shared as they become available.
