Rental brokers provide university travelers with flexibility and alternative options to expensive hotels when on university business. To ensure that you are fully reimbursed for your lodging expenses, please review the university’s policy regarding lodging rental brokers.
The use of a lodging rental broker (e.g., Airbnb, Tripping, Home Away) is allowed as a travel expense as long as the daily rate does not exceed the University of Illinois System’s Lodging Allowance Rates.
Each employee traveling on university business and staying in a lodging rental has a per-night allowance. In Chrome River, if you have two employees staying in the same lodging rental, then two rooms should be entered under the Maximum Room Rate Calculation per night. Make sure to include a business purpose for all travelers and use a TCard for the booking.
