This message is in follow-up to the June 23, 2025 communication regarding Sigma-Aldrich adding a 7% tariff surcharge to all orders. Unfortunately, although conversations with Sigma-Aldrich on this matter are ongoing, to date, they have not fully resolved the issue. Accordingly, we will be proceeding with deactivating their iBuy catalog, effective immediately.
Now that the catalog is removed from iBuy, users should begin utilizing alternate supplier catalogs available in iBuy, wherever possible. In most cases, alternative catalogs, including Fisher Scientific and VWR, offer the same or similar products at competitive rates for the items historically purchased from Sigma-Aldrich.
There may be select categories of items that are only available from Sigma-Aldrich. If these items are needed for a future order, please work with your campus Purchasing and Contract Management Office to process an independent small purchase or standing order.
