Have you ever started to process a journal voucher (JV) within Banner, but then decided to abandon the entry for one reason or another? If so, it’s important to delete that in-process JV so it does not remain open within Banner. See below for tips on how to do this:
- Enter the document number of the in-process JV into the Document Number field of the applicable journal voucher entry page within Banner (such as FGAJVCD).
- Click the Go button to enter into the Journal Voucher Document Header field of the entry.
- Once you are in this header field, click on the Delete button in the upper right corner of the header field. You will then see a yellow notification message appear asking you to click the Delete button again to confirm your decision to delete the JV.
- Once you see that notification appear, click on the Delete button again. After you click on this button the second time, you will see a yellow and green notification message appear in the upper right corner of the page confirming that the deletion of the JV is now complete.
- Keep in mind that this process will only work for in-process JVs (not JVs that have already been completed and posted to Banner).
- For those who prefer to use keystrokes, you can also press the Shift key and the F6 key (as opposed to clicking on the Delete button). If you press that key combination twice (instead of clicking on the Delete button twice), it will work just the same.
- Finally, keep in mind that if you start a JV in Banner, but you do not complete it or delete it, then that JV will remain open in Banner. If that occurs, UAFR will eventually contact you asking you to either complete or delete the JV.
