UI Ride is an intercampus shuttle service connecting Champaign-Urbana and Chicago to provide an affordable, efficient, and convenient mode of transportation for university employees and students.
See Routes and Schedule for a list of multiple morning and evening stops the 18-seat passenger vans make in Urbana and Chicago on Monday through Friday, including arrivals and departures at the Discovery Partners Institute and UI Health.
Faculty and staff can also make reservations for one accompanying guest each; although students must have their travel pre-approved by an associated department for academic or research purposes.
Rates range between $25 and $30 one-way, and the shuttles feature the following amenities:
- Wi-Fi and AC power outlets
- Reserved seating
- Restroom
- Storage for one carry-on bag per person (not to exceed 18 x 14 x 12 inches)
- Reading lights and tray tables
- A four-person workstation for meetings (reservation required)
- Complimentary water and light snacks
- Dressing room area
- Two wheelchair-accessible seats, which are lift-equipped
