This announcement applies to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign only.
The Purchasing and Contract Management Office (PCMO) is seeking your input to help improve how rush requests are handled across campus.
Over the past year, rush requests have increased, with many being submitted close to service dates or expiring quotes. When urgent requests are submitted, it can create challenges with prioritization and compete with requests submitted on time.
Audience: Department staff involved in purchasing and requisition submission. We want to hear from you.
Our goal is to work together to identify the most effective and fair way to manage rush requests that result from limited planning time. Your feedback will help guide how these requests are handled moving forward.
What to Expect
During the upcoming Purchasing Forum, we will:
● Review the definition of a true emergency
● Share examples of common rush request scenarios
● Present options for handling time-sensitive requests
● Ask participants to provide feedback through a live poll
● Use that feedback to guide future process decisions
Why Your Input Matters
Your participation will directly influence how rush requests are prioritized and managed across campus. This is an opportunity to help shape a process that supports timely purchasing while maintaining fairness for all departments.
