This announcement applies to the Chicago campus only. Please distribute this information to those in your unit who work with fringe benefit, tuition remission, and facilities & administrative rates.
Following are the UIC fringe benefit rates for Fiscal Year 2026, commencing in July 2025 with the BW 15 and MN 8 pay periods (with the exception of Retirement, which is effective with BW 15 and MN 7). The FY26 fringe benefit rates have been finalized and approved by our cognizant Federal Agency, the Office of Naval Research (ONR).
Please note, there is a change in the Health, Life, Dental (HLD) portion of the fringe benefit rate as compared to the provisional rate. During rate negotiations, we received more current information, which resulted in a slight increase in the HLD rate negotiated with the Federal government.
Academic and Non-Academic Fringe Benefits Rates
The following rates are applicable to academic and non-academic employees eligible for SURS and insurance.

The following rates are applicable to graduate assistants paid from sponsored funds.
