University Accounting and Financial Reporting would like to remind units of current due dates for the state mandated 2020 equipment biennial inventories previously extended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
New due dates for all affected units are as follows:
- UIC East Side biennial cycle - previously scheduled to certify on March 31, 2020
- Certification due date is now January 31, 2021
- Pending Resolution due date is now April 30, 2021
- UIUC - previously scheduled to certify on August 31, 2020
- Certification due date is now January 31, 2021
- Pending Resolution due date is now April 30, 2021
- System Office units - previously scheduled to certify on August 31, 2020
- Certification due date is now January 31, 2021
- Pending Resolution due date is now April 30, 2021
Due dates are updated in the Biennial Inventory System and automated notification emails have been re-enabled for unit staff assigned the roles of unit contact and unit head within the FABweb/Biennial Inventory System. Departments with original biennial inventory due dates of 2021 are not affected by the extension and should proceed as usual with their physical inventory of equipment.

Monthly online training is available and unit staff are encouraged to register for the “Physical Inventory of Equipment” course listed under Property Accounting at Course Registration - OBFS.
