Matt Simpson is a Community Development Strategist based in Rockford, Illinois. He has 13 years of experience working in economic development, neighborhood-level community development, and public administration. His passion for entrepreneurship and business development lead him to the role he occupies today – African American Business Development Manager with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
Mr. Simpson will address the importance of Juneteenth to our nation and what we can do to continue to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in our purchasing decisions, which will contribute to the economic development of underserved African American communities.
