Dear colleagues,
We are excited to announce the upcoming release of a new exception request process on November 27, 2023, as part of our continuous efforts to enhance internal controls. This new process, governed by the upcoming Policy 9.1.2 Segregation of Duties in Enterprise-wide Applications for Procurement and Tracking of Equipment, aims to streamline and improve the exception request experience.
The current exception request webform will be replaced with a more user-friendly online application, offering a seamless experience for submitting and tracking exception requests. To learn more about this new process, register now for a live demonstration session.
Users with currently approved exception requests, please be aware that these approvals will expire by the end of May 2024. We recommend preparing for the transition by familiarizing yourself with the new online application and submitting any necessary requests well in advance.
This initiative aligns with our commitment to reducing the prevalence of high-risk role combinations and ensuring robust internal controls. We encourage units to explore available resources to better understand these roles and avoid conflicting role combinations by visiting the Internal Controls website.
We extend our gratitude to the representatives from the three universities and the System Offices who contributed to the development and implementation of this new process. Your feedback and expertise have been invaluable in enhancing internal controls for the entire University of Illinois System.
Thank you for your continued dedication to maintaining the integrity and security of our systems.
Best regards,
