Facilities and Administrative (F&A) Cost Rates are established by negotiation with the Federal Government. The current University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Facilities and Administrative Rates negotiated with the Federal Government ended June 30, 2025. Proposed rates for the period were submitted and are currently under review by the federal government. This has necessitated the implementation of provisional F&A rates for FY26 until such time as final audited rates have been negotiated.
A new Tuition Remission rate for Other Sponsored Activities has been established for the university. The Tuition Remission rates for FY26 are listed on the Rate Schedule on the website.
FY26 Fringe Benefit Rates have been finalized and negotiated with the Federal Government. The FY26 Fringe Benefit Rates take effect for pay periods BW15 and MN8. At the time of the rate proposal submission, a larger increase in the Health, Life, Dental (HLD) portion of the fringe benefit rate was expected based on available information. During recent rate negotiations, we received more current information, which resulted in a lower HLD rate negotiated with the Federal government.
