The new Business and Finance (BusFin) website was launched in March 2024. Given the abundance of content now available on our website, we want to highlight the most used areas. This week, we will look at the most popular areas of the Equipment Management page. Feel free to bookmark any of these pages in your browser for quick access.
- The university is responsible for acquiring, documenting, transferring, and disposing of thousands of pieces of equipment each year. For general information about these processes, visit the Equipment Management page to stay informed.
This page also houses several helpful documents, such as the Equipment - Banner Tags Process Flow and documents detailing Location Codes Chart 1, Location Codes Chart 2, and Location Codes Chart 4.
- Any item purchased by the university that is over $100 is considered university equipment. Any item worth $2,500 or more requires a PTag for inventory purposes. These higher-value pieces of equipment are inventoried as a Banner Fixed Asset and must be accounted for in every unit's Bienniel Inventory Report.
Please visit the Equipment Overview page for more information regarding unit roles and responsibilities for university equipment. This page also has many resources related to Banner, EDDIE, Banner Account Codes, and more!
- Getting new equipment or transferring equipment from one unit to another? Visit the Equipment Acquisitions page for more information.
- Keeping accurate records of inventory is crucial for every unit. Please review the Maintaining Equipment Records page for information on correctly documenting your inventory.
- In the event that you need to transfer, dispose of, or send equipment to the Surplus Warehouses, you can find helpful explanations on the Surplus, Transfers, and Disposals page.
- If you're unsure about any equipment-related terms, check out the Equipment Management Glossary for a list of definitions.
