Did you know that the University of Illinois System has two surplus equipment warehouses which you can utilize for your unit’s equipment needs? See below for further details:
- The surplus equipment warehouses located at UIUC and UIC are staffed with knowledgeable and helpful individuals who can assist you in meeting your unit’s equipment needs.
- If you need a piece of equipment, we encourage you to visit one of these surplus warehouses to identify what type of equipment is available and to assess the condition of the equipment. If you find a piece of equipment that meets your unit’s operational needs, you can reserve this equipment for your department at no charge, other than transportation costs (which vary by university).
- Common examples of equipment which may be available include laptops, desktop computers, printers, monitors, desks, chairs, tables, and filing cabinets.
- Surplus equipment can only be used for official U of I System business and is not available for personal use.
- Physical access to the university surplus equipment warehouses is limited to state/university employees.
