A team at UIUC's School of Molecular and Cellular Biology has identified a specific protein, PSD-95, that is linked to seizures seen in the early phases of Alzheimer’s disease. PSD-95 is the earliest biomarker yet discovered that's associated with the onset of Alzheimer's.
