Recurring commitments through credit cards are a popular way for donors to support the University of Illinois. Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express may all be used to establish a recurring credit card commitment.
Recurring credit card commitments may be established on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis, with a start date of the 1st or 15th of the month, in the future. Neither recurring credit card commitments nor credit card charges can be created or charged for dates that have already passed.
As of the end of June, there were over 4,000 active recurring commitments being managed by the University of Illinois Foundation. The average gift from a recurring commitment is almost $93 and 89% of the recurring commitments are monthly commitments.
