Yesterday, the University of Illinois’ Institute of Government and Public Affairs (IGPA) co-hosted the Paul H. Douglas Award for Ethics in Government ceremony with Senator Dick Durbin. This year’s ceremony honored former Senator Olympia Snowe (R-Maine). IGPA Director Chris Mooney, President Robert Easter and Vice President for Academic Affairs Christophe Pierre spoke at the event. Before the event, President Easter and VPAA Pierre met with Senator Mark Kirk's office to discuss reauthorization of the Higher Education Act and the Administration’s recent college affordability and accountability proposals. President Easter also met with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker to talk about UI LABS and the University of Illinois' economic development initiatives.
