This past Thursday, President Easter and Congressman Mike Quigley hosted a roundtable with a variety of transportation stakeholders to discuss sustainable transportation solutions for the Chicagoland area. Steve Schlickman, Executive Director of UIC’s Urban Transportation Center, moderated the discussion. Roundtable participants included: Forrest Claypool, President of the Chicago Transit Authority; Scott Kubly, Deputy Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Transportation; Mark Copeland from the Illinois Department of Transportation; Bob Dean, Deputy Executive Director of the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning; Samantha Bingham, Chicago Area Clean Cities Initiative; and Lee Crandell, Director of Campaigns for the Active Transportation Alliance. Congressman Quigley sent out a press release following the event, which highlights the work that UIC’s Urban Transportation Center is doing to address emerging transportation challenges.
