blog posts5+ Tips for Putting Together Your Weekly Action Plan5+ tips for putting together your weekly action plan Review the week-by-week plan template which already includes key deliverables and progress milestones. Use the tools that work for you. If you’d rather use Trello or MS Project or a spreadsheet or task list or post-it notes to develop your plan cool. You do not need to use the template provided. Start with the end and work backwards. In an ideal world, what will already be done by the time you get to the week before Demo Day? What must be done before the final/practice run? If you think you’ll be sharing a cool new video with the advisors by then, video production can’t happen the following week. Think about tasks, not just milestones. If “hold focus group,” is on your plan, keep in mind you’ll need time to book reservations, identify an invitation list, invite those people, probably send a nudge/reminder, in addition to agreeing on the objectives of the focus group, what questions should be asked, circulating those for review among the team, compiling the information you gather at the focus group, and making tweaks to your overall strategy based on what you learn. Add those things to your plan. Assign owners. Decide early who is responsible for which items each week. Bonus! While we try to schedule Demo Day exactly 12 weeks after Kickoff, with spring break and travel and commencement schedules this year, there are two extra weeks between Kickoff and Demo Day. Use the buffer to your advantage!
