A representative from SURS will provide the most current SURS information and tools to assist you in planning for retirement.
A variety of topics are covered, including: retirement calculations, qualifying to purchase additional service, service for sick leave, salary averages, qualifying for insurance, and returning to employment. Seminars will address both the General Formula and the Money Purchase Formula, including the change in Money Purchase factors that will go into effect July 2, 1012. SURS seminars are scheduled on the Urbana campus:
- Friday, September 16, 9:30am - 11:00am at the Main Library, Rm 66
- Tuesday, September 27, 2:30pm - 4:00pm at the Materials Science and Engineering Bldg, Rm 100
Content for both sessions is the same. These SURS seminars are approved events under Civil Service Policy and Rules, Rule 11.12. Employees may be released from work to attend these events, University operations permitting, and subject to prior approval from your supervisor.
