Have you considered participating in the State of Illinois Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Plan? If you spend $240 or more per year on recurring eligible medical or dependent care expenses, then you may save money by paying for them with an FSA. You can reduce your taxable income when you contribute to this plan.
Why Should I Consider Participating in the FSA?
Use tax-free dollars to pay for eligible expenses, which may include:
- Medical Care (MCAP) – Co-pays and out-of-pocket expenses, eye glasses, hearing aids, physical therapy, prescription medications, and more.
- Dependent Care (DCAP) – Child and elder day care, before- and after-school care, summer day camp, nursery school, pre-school, and more.
When Can I Enroll?
You can enroll during the May 1 – 31, 2018 Benefit Choice period on CMS MyBenefits.
What If I'm Already Enrolled?
If you would like to continue your enrollment in the Medical Care Assistance Plan (MCAP) or Dependent Care Assistance Plan (DCAP), then you must re-enroll for the upcoming plan year during the May 1 – 31, 2018 Benefit Choice period.
Again this year, you will make your Benefit Choice elections, including MCAP and DCAP enrollment, on CMS MyBenefits.
