SURS announced that they will be holding an election to fill four vacant seats on the SURS board of trustees. The voting period will be April 1 – May 1, 2024. All SURS participants are encouraged to consider running for a board position. Candidate applications, nominating petitions and detailed information is available in the Trustee Election Flyer. Three of the four vacant seats will be filled by active SURS participants. To run for a participant seat, you must be an active SURS participant and have your petition signed by at least 400 other active SURS participants. Candidate applications must be submitted to SURS by December 29, 2023 and completed petitions are due to SURS by January 31, 2024.
On or before April 1, 2024, all active and retired SURS participants will receive voting instructions and candidate information and will be able to vote online, by phone or by returning a paper ballot in a postage-paid envelope. The voting period will run from April 1 through May 1, 2024 at which time all ballots will be due.
