The end of Benefit Choice is approaching quickly. If you are currently enrolled in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Program, and haven’t re-enrolled for the plan year beginning on July 1, 2017, you have until May 31, less than two weeks to do so! Benefit Choice is open at https://MyBenefits.illinois.gov.
Remember, re-enrollment in the FSA Program is NOT automatic!
Incur Current Year Expenses by June 30, 2017
All expenses for the current plan year must be incurred (services must be provided) on or before June 30, 2017. Any funds remaining in your account(s) for the current year cannot be used to pay for or reimburse charges incurred after June 30, 2017, with the exception of the MCAP Rollover described below.
Submit Claims/Documentation by September 30, 2017
You must submit claims and documentation for charges incurred during the current plan year on or before September 30, 2017. Remember, claims for the current plan year can only include charges incurred July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017.
MCAP Rollover
Up to $500 of your remaining account balance will be rolled over to the new plan year (beginning July 1, 2017) only if you re-enroll in the MCAP for the upcoming plan year. Any amount in excess of $500 will be forfeited. NOTE: DCAP does not have a rollover provision, therefore all funds remaining in your DCAP account will be forfeited whether or not you re-enroll.
If you do not re-enroll in the MCAP, all funds in your MCAP account will be forfeited if they are not used to reimburse charges incurred on or before June 30, 2017, as described above. If you do not re-enroll, you will have until September 30, 2017, to submit reimbursement claims for expenses incurred during July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017.
ConnectYourCare Payment Cards
If you have a payment card, you should keep it as you can continue to use it if you re-enroll for the upcoming year. Keep your card until either:
- Your card has expired and you have received a new one from ConnectYourCare
- You are no longer enrolled in the FSA Program
