Removing system access in a timely manner for applications such as Banner, HRFE, iBuy, Chrome River, and the EPIC system at the University Hospital is critical to help ensure our data and resources are secure. Removing access to critical systems when an employee separates is necessary to maintain good internal controls over appropriate access to our university systems.
The unit HR contact must immediately notify their appropriate Unit Security Contact (USC), or the Hospital Information Services unit for EPIC access, when they become aware of an impending termination/separation or if they no longer require the same access due to a job change. The respective USC should then take prompt action to remove system access for the terminating/separating employee as soon as possible or at least within 24 hours of the employee’s last day of work.
More detailed information regarding the process for removing system access will be communicated to those with HR processing duties.
Questions about terminating access may be directed to the AITS Service Desk at servicedeskaits@uillinois.edu or call (312) 996-4806 for UIC and (217) 333-3102 for UIS and Urbana.
