The end of Benefit Choice is May 31. If you haven’t re-enrolled in the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Program for the plan year beginning on July 1, 2022, you have until May 31 to do so at https://MyBenefits.illinois.gov. No action is required if you are not re-enrolling in an FSA or making any other Benefit Choice changes!
Re-Enrollment Required for MCAP Rollover
If you re-enroll in the MCAP for the upcoming plan year, up to $570 of your remaining FY2023 funds will be rolled over to the new plan year (beginning July 1, 2023).
If you do not re-enroll in the MCAP, all funds in your MCAP account will be forfeited if they are not used to reimburse expenses incurred on or before June 30, 2023.
Important: If you enroll in an HSA as a companion to the Consumer Driven Health Plan, you cannot enroll in MCAP.
Incur Current Year Expenses by June 30, 2023
All expenses for the current plan year must be incurred (services must be provided) on or before June 30, 2023. Any funds remaining in your account(s) for the current year cannot be used to pay for or reimburse expenses incurred after June 30, 2023, with the exception of the MCAP Rollover described above.
Submit Claims/Documentation by September 30, 2023
You must submit claims and any required documentation for expenses incurred during the current plan year on or before September 30, 2023. Remember, claims for the current plan year can only include expenses incurred July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.
Optum Financial/ConnectYourCare Payment Card
If you have a payment card, you should keep it as you can continue to use it if you re-enroll for the upcoming year. Keep your card until either:
- Your card has expired and you have received a new one from Optum Financial/ConnectYourCare
- You are no longer enrolled in the FSA Program
